These terms are the agreement between you and the person who runs Gordito. Using it means accepting them. They are short on purpose.
Who you are dealing with
Gordito is provided by Quentin Churet, an individual established in France, reachable at privacy@gordito.app. It is a personal project, not a company.
What Gordito is
A record of your language learning that your own AI agent can read and write: vocabulary, quizzes, the answers you gave, the corrections against them, and a review schedule computed from that history. You reach it through the dashboard at dashboard.gordito.app and through an MCP connector you add to an AI client of your choice.
Who can use it
You need to be 13 or over. If you are under the age of digital consent where you live — 15 in France — you need a parent or guardian to accept these terms on your behalf. You need an account, which is created through WorkOS AuthKit; keep control of the address and credentials you sign in with, because anything done with your session counts as done by you.
What it costs
Nothing today. Gordito is free while it is this young, and there is no billing of any kind in it. If that ever changes you will be told in advance, and no existing notebook will be held hostage: you will be able to export or delete your data rather than pay.
Your notebook is yours
You keep every right you have in what you save. You grant only the permission needed to run the service: to store your content, return it to you and to the agents you connect, and compute your schedule from it. Nothing you write is used to train any model, published, shared with other users, or shown to anyone but you and the agents you authorise.
In exchange, what you put in is your responsibility. Do not store other people’s personal data, anything unlawful, or anything you do not have the right to keep there. Gordito is a language notebook, not a filing cabinet.
The agent half is not ours
Gordito decides when a word is due. Your agent decides what to ask and whether your answer was right. That means the questions you get, and the corrections filed against your answers, are produced by an AI client that is not under Gordito’s control, and can be wrong — confidently wrong, in a language you are still learning. Do not rely on Gordito as an authority on any language, and do not rely on it for anything consequential. Your use of Claude, ChatGPT or any other client is governed by that provider’s own terms.
Fair use
Do not:
- try to reach another learner’s notebook, or work around authentication;
- hammer the API or the connector in a way that degrades it for anyone else;
- use Gordito to store or distribute unlawful, infringing or abusive content;
- resell access, or present the service as your own.
Availability, as it really is
Gordito is provided as it stands, with no promise that it will be available, uninterrupted, free of faults, or that any particular feature will survive. It runs on hosting that can fail, it is maintained by one person in their own time, and it may change or be discontinued. If it is ever shut down for good, you will be given reasonable notice and a window to export your notebook.
Ending it
You can stop at any time: disconnect the connector, sign out, and ask at privacy@gordito.app for your notebook to be deleted. Access can be suspended or ended if these terms are broken in a way that harms the service or another learner, or if the service closes.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, Gordito is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost data or lost learning progress, or for anything your AI client says or does. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to what you paid for the service in the twelve months before the claim, which for a free service is nothing. None of this affects the rights you have as a consumer that cannot be waived by contract, and nothing here limits liability for gross negligence, wilful misconduct or personal injury.
Privacy
How your data is handled is set out in the privacy policy, which is part of these terms.
Law and disputes
French law governs these terms. If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory rules of your own country, and you may bring proceedings before the courts where you live. Otherwise, the courts of France have jurisdiction.
Changes
These terms can change. The date at the top will change with them, and material changes will be announced in the dashboard before taking effect. Continuing to use Gordito after that means accepting the new version; if you would rather not, delete your notebook.
